Wire diagram: After market Radio installation help
Hi guys,
I'm trying to install a single din in my 00 750il originally DSP/Navi. I searched and not able to find any wire diagram for the two plugs behind the navi display, 1 white plug, and 1 blue. I'm mainly working off of the blue plug, where the blue and yellow twisted pairs are speaker wires to the DSP amp. There are 6 other wires on the blue plug that I'm not able to identify, hope any of you guys have any knowledge please help.

Chuck,
I really appreciate the pin out for the harness, I'm trying to convert the pin numbers to wiring color code of the blue harness X18801, since I cut the harness. What I am interested in is +12V constant, Ground, and Accessories switch. I found +12V constant (pin 7), Ground (pin 2), but which pin/wire could I tap in for +12V ACC switch?
1. Gray/Red - Nighttime illumination signal - Light Module
2. Solid Brown - Ground **Ground**
3. Blue/Black - Left tape voltage control (tape audio signal, blue twisted pair)
4. Blue/Brown - Left tape voltage ground (tape audio signal, blue twisted pair)
5. Not used
6. White/light gray - I/K bus signal (I don't care)7. Red/brown - Terminal 30::Fuse F69:: **Constant +12V**
8. Not used
9. Yellow/brown - tape voltage ground (tape audio signal, yellow twisted pair)
10. Yellow/black - tape voltage control (tape audio signal, yellow twisted pair)

Solid black - Background illumination signalI pull all the audio electronics in the trunk yesterday, and the car electronics (headlights/interior lights) went crazy on me when I tried to started a few hours after, it would not start. Check the top battery, its only ~6V, what is draining the battery so quickly? I did left the door and trunk open for a couple hours. Anyways, I disconnected the top battery and put it in the charger the last 3 hours, trying to get it fully charge.

UPDATE: So I got the car to start and all the problems went away as expected/hope for after the top battery is fully charged.

Terminal R is the accessory (position 2) on the iggy switch IIRC. Check for voltage on the red/blue with the key in different positions. - - - Updated - - -
Edit: Looks like that's actually a red/violet on pin 11.

One last wire I fail to ask, which wire should I use to send the "remote turn-on" to the trunk? Can I use pin 6 to send the signal to the trunk?

Can't answer that. Best wait for someone who has done this work before. I wouldn't mess with the I-bus in any way however.
- Theres a white signal on wire coming from the largest plug on the DSP amplifier in the trunk. Saves you running a wire from front to back.

Do your self a BIG favor..just rewire it all..
I ran a entire new Harness from the amp up to my aftermarket head unit (RCAs,all speakers, power, remote, illum, ibus, reverse cam, bomb blast button, champagne tray and guacamole)
If you are still runing the ORIGINAL 4ohm DSP speakers i bet they are toast...all the woofers shot.
I ended up going MB Quart 6.5 components with tweets and a new 4 channel amp...to my aftermarket headunit. 100xs better than a 15 year old speakers!

- Whenever we start running multiple amps and new HU we always ground the HU to the same ground as the amps and use the same "battery" power. What I do is take 14-16 gauge wire 1 yellow, one blue and twist. Then 2 14-16 gauge black wires and twist. Connect the black to the ground where you have the amps grounded to, take the yellow and connect to one of the amp power connections and take the blue and connect to the same amp remote turn on. Use a jump wire to seperate amps. Run the 2 twisted pairs along with the audio interconnects and connect to the HU. The only wire that you pick at the HU is the ign wire, leave the rest of the harness alone. In the trunk where the dsp amp was, solder new speaker wires to the wires driving each speaker and insulate with elec tape/liquid. I don't ever cut factory plugs off with these types of installs. The reason for running the ground/ign/rem from the amps to the HU is to combat any introduction of noise due to multiple ground points. Plus the install is nice and clean and can be taken back to stock if ever required. I will also use a quality set of audio interconnects. Good luck with your install. Originally Posted by asianvenom

I appreciate your expert advice, and I agree with everything you said. However, I am not running the power and ground back up to the head unit. Solely because I have never experienced noise problem with using different grounding for the head unit respectably to the rest of the system. I am grounding all my amps grounds the same point as well as power from one distribution block, because I have experienced noise issues like you mentioned with different ground points for the amp. Again, I also agree with you that none of the harness should not be cut, as it is not necessary (though I did cut the harness behind the deck for probing purpose). I will be tapping in the rear harness for speakers, and solder everything in place. I just don't connectors when doing audio install.

1. Navigate Through Your Slides
First things first, note the thumbnails on the left side of your work space. These are your slides. You can scroll up and down through the available slides in your template, right here. You can also click and drag to make this part of your workspace bigger or smaller.
Click on any slide thumbnail to view it. In this demonstration, Slide 5 is selected, so it's the slide currently in view. We could edit this slide now.
2. Just Click on the Text to Start Editing
Editing text is probably the most common edit you'll make in MS PowerPoint themes. Thankfully, it's really easy to do.
Simply click on any existing text to start editing it. Notice in the example below that the text has a box around it. This means that it's active. We could click and drag on the visible resize handles to resize this text box if we wanted to. With this text active, type, edit, and delete the text in any way you prefer.
3. Easily Add Images into Your Template
Next, let's add some images to our template. There's two ways we could do this.
- If your template already has image placeholders, try right clicking on PC or control clicking on Mac. Then, select Change Picture > From a File. PowerPoint then prompts you to select a new image from your computer. The placeholder is replaced with your new image.
- But what if you want to insert an image without a placeholder? In this case, go to the very top of the software. Go to Insert > Picture > Picture from File. You'll be prompted to select an image from your computer. Resize and place it as you wish by clicking and dragging.
4. Double Click to Start Formatting Your Pictures
You might want to adjust your pictures. Try double clicking on a picture in your PowerPoint document to bring up the Format Picture pane, as shown below on the right. From this panel, we can make some adjustments to our imagery. For example, we can change how the image is positioned and cropped.
5. Try Out a Different Color Scheme
Customize your Microsoft PPT themes in any way you want. One really fun way to experiment with colors is to try different color schemes. Take a look at the Ribbon. This is a set of tabs containing content such as Home, Insert, Draw, Design, etc. In this case, take a look at the Design tab.
